封面图片为高分二号 2021 年 11 月 7 日获取的广西北仑河口国家级自然保护区影像。该区是联合国环境规划署批准的中国首个、全球三大 GEF(全球环境资金会)国际红树林示范区之一,2008 年被列入《国际重要湿地名录》。红树林是全球生物多样性和生产力最高的生态系统之一,在净化海水、防风消浪、维持生物多样性、固碳储碳等方面发挥着极为重要的作用。2015 年 9 月中旬,该区爆发了严重的红树林虫灾,大面积红树植株枯黄。2021 年,在自然和人工的双重作用下,受灾的红树林已完全恢复(图中鲜红色植被)。详细信息见本期第 1112—1120 页“红树林遥感”专栏文章“1990 年—2020 年广西北仑河口红树林扰动研究”。
 
The image of mangrove forests in Guangxi Beilun Estuary National Nature Reserve by GF-2 satellite
 
 
The cover image shows Guangxi Beilun Estuary National Nature Reserve (BNNR), China, obtained by GF-2 satellite on November 7, 2021.Approved by the United Nations Environment Programme, BNNR is the first GEF (Global Environment Facility) international mangrove demonstration area in China and one of the three in the world. It was listed as Wetlands of International Importance in 2008. Mangrove forest is one of the most biologically diverse and productive ecosystems on the Earth, which plays an important role in purifying seawater,attenuating wave energy and storm surges, maintaining biodiversity, and carbon sequestration and storage. In mid-September 2015, a serious mangrove infestation broke out in BNNR, a large number of mangrove trees turned withered and yellow. In 2021, under dual effects of natural and artificial, the disturbed mangrove forests have fully recovered (bright red vegetation in the image).
